When you see a fraction what you are really seeing is a number sentence written in a different form. 3/5 is the same as 3 divided by 5. The line in the middle of a fraction is a short way of saying "divided by". Therefore when you read a fraction you read it just like a page from left to right and top to bottom. So 3/5 again is the same as 3 divided by 5.
